Nominations open for the SDRC Executive Committee

The Scottish Dementia Research Consortium (SDRC) is inviting members to put themselves forward for election to the SDRC Executive Committee.

There are a number of vacancies available, including one position reserved for an Early Career Researcher (ECR).

Join the SDRC Executive Committee

The Executive Committee plays an important role in supporting the work and development of the SDRC and helping to shape its future direction.

We welcome nominations from SDRC members who are engaged in, or planning to engage in, research relevant to dementia and/or brain health. We encourage applications from across all disciplines, research interests and career stages.

Candidates are not standing to represent a particular research area or discipline. As part of the nomination process, candidates will be asked to indicate their primary area or areas of research interest. This will help us understand the breadth of research interests and expertise represented among nominees

Contribute to the future of the SDRC

Candidates who are elected will be expected to adhere to the SDRC’s governance arrangements and constitution as they apply, as well as the commitments associated with the role of Executive Committee Member outlined in the Scottish Dementia Research Consortium Background and Governance Arrangements paper, while recognising that these are currently under review.

New members will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development and updating of these arrangements as part of their role on the Executive Committee.

How to nominate yourself

SDRC members wishing to stand for election should complete and return the Executive Committee nomination form.

If the number of nominations exceeds the number of available positions, an election will be held, with SDRC members invited to vote. Further information about the election process will be provided if required.

The deadline for nominations is 14:00 on Monday 2 November 2026

We encourage members from across the SDRC community to consider putting themselves forward and contributing their experience, ideas and perspectives to the work and future development of the Consortium.
