The DETERMIND project is the largest national research program currently running designed to explore the lived experiences of people with dementia and their carers, with the aim of reducing inequalities and improving access to care services.  

Currently, they are looking create the largest research group of LGBTQIA+ people with dementia in the world, aiming to better understand their experiences of dementia care. We are hoping that you may be in a position to promote this work to people who have been diagnosed with dementia and who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community. LGBTQIA+ people are often under-represented in dementia research. By taking part, individuals will have an opportunity to help ensure that future dementia services are more inclusive, accessible, and responsive to diverse communities. 

Participation would involve an interview with with a member of the DETERMIND research team, focusing on the individual’s experiences since their diagnosis. If they wish, a carer may also take part, although this is entirely optional. Interviews can take place by telephone or video call, or in-person if possible
